Identity Thief

Identity Thief

Most of you have seen the movie (Identity Theft) with Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, where “Sandy Patterson” gets his identity stolen from “Diana” a con artist. She calls him and impersonates a credit card protection agency to get his personal information from him; birthdate, social security number, etc.

He falls for it hook, line and sinker! Gives her the info, now she has his identity and can now use it as her own!

In the same way, the enemy tries to use this scam in our lives!!! He started with Eve and has used it ever since. He is after all, the master thief, liar and manipulator. But that is all he is. It is up to us to recognize and refuse, because our identity is in Jesus and all that was done and paid for on the cross!!!

Proverbs 18:21 tells us that life and death are in what we speak.

Matt 15:11 tells us that it’s not what goes into us but what comes out of our mouth that defiles us.

Matt 18:18 says that whatever we forbid or permit here on earth so it shall be.

The enemy loves to remind us of past failures, short comings, fears or just big fat lies! He does this so that we will believe these things and come into agreement with the lie, so it has power over us. If we are beaten down, how can we be light to the world?

Just as Diana from the movie convinced Sandy to “willingly give up” his rights, the enemy also wants us to give up our freedom and heavenly rights!

Our heart believes what the mind and mouth speak!!! That is why the word tells us to be transformed by the RENEWING of our mind!

The Lord loves to hear us repeat his promises and word back to him. It is truth. It is yes and amen. It is declaration of faith. It is our right as a son and daughter of the King to receive and live out these promises.

The day Shaun was diagnosed with cancer last May, I went through a long weekend of cussing, blaming, crying and being just angry at God and Shaun. “Why?”, I kept asking! I didn’t understand. How could He allow this to happen?

Then I had to make a decision. I could either believe what the doctors were telling us or I could believe what God says about healing. I chose God! I chose his word! I chose his promises! So, from that day on, I kept declaring health and healing for my husband.

HEAR ME NOW. I never once googled anything about cancer and I never came into agreement with the enemy and claimed the cancer as Shaun‘s! We never took ownership and we didn’t fall for the scam. It was only a diagnose, not the truth! We never spoke death over this situation! To this day, we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Shaun is healthy, whole, restored and well and that his body lines up and responds to the word to God.

1 Peter 2:24 By his wounds you “were” (past tense) healed!!!

We need to grasp hold of the free life that is readily available to us so that we can fulfill all that God is wanting to do. If we are stuck in speaking death, claiming or agreeing with something that’s not life, how can we be free?!

Jesus, I ask you would break the chains of negative ties or agreements that do not bring life to our lives. Help us Holy Spirit to speak life and declare your word over situations in our life that even may seem hopeless. With you all things are possible. Amen.
