What I Learned from the Book of Daniel
I have read the book of Daniel many times, probably because his name is so cool. This week during a time of prayer, I felt like I was supposed to go through the first six chapters and write down some thoughts that came to me as I was reading.
I was surprised how with all the ups and downs of this book, how many similar themes there were.
I shouldn't be surprised though. I am learning that as complex, all knowing, all powerful as God is, He is often teaching similar lessons from many different perspectives.
So here is my challenge to you. Listen to the Book of Daniel, use the YouVersion Bible app. As you listen, read along this list of phrases. See if you notice some of the same repeating lessons I did.
If God is teaching the same type of lessons over and over, it must be really important that we learn them right?
Alright, start listening (Daniel chapters 1 through 6), and read along here as you listen.
"God allows seasons of ups and downs
God speaks to all types of people, even the twisted ones
Loving people who are far from God should be normal for those who love and know God

Give glory and credit to Whom it belongs
Even kings can be moved by the power of God
Share your blessings with others

Sometimes people will hate you, for no good reason
People will always find a way to criticize and attack you

Sometimes the fire doesn’t get you
Following Him is still right, even if the fire does
God is greater than kings and fire
Give glory and credit to Whom it belongs
Even kings can be moved by the power of God
People can change their mind, no matter how set it is, when they see God move in a miraculous way

Sometimes people will hate you, for no good reason
People will always find a way to criticize and attack you
If the only place people can trap you, is in your love and devotion to God, that’s a good thing

Your devotion to God can anger others and be used against you
Be easily found and perfectly devoted
