THANKFUL

Thankful

I think it can become pretty easy to be thankful when things are going well and we have all we want or need, and to feel a profound sense of lack when circumstances are not ideal.

Yet, the Bible tells us to be thankful in all seasons.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is the will of God for you IN Christ Jesus” (emphasis added by me)

Rejoice all the time, pray all the time, no matter what our circumstances are, give thanks to God, that’s how He wants us to live, and this is possible in Jesus.

In Jesus and all the time. I think those are the really big takeaways here.

I don’t know about you, but when my worship to God becomes sparse or sporadic, my joy decreases and I find it hard to be thankful… when my prayer becomes sparse or sporadic, my joy decreases and I find it hard to be thankful.

Yet, when I’m spending time everyday worshiping God, when I’m spending time everyday praying and talking with God… no matter my circumstances I have joy and I find it easy to be thankful.

So let’s allow this week to be a reminder for each of us, to worship God… He is ALWAYS worthy of worship. Let’s also talk to Him, listen to Him, follow Him… we will have great joy and we will find it far easier to be thankful.

I’m thankful for you church, you bless and encourage me daily. I am thankful to our good God who has brought us all together!
