Wait for the Turn
Over the last few months, I have been walking in one of the most exciting adventures of my life, planting a church. There are so many reasons I am grateful for this season, and one of the greatest is the team God has allowed me to walk this journey with.
I often think how blessed I am, how fortunate this church is, and how great God's plans must be for Woodland because of the amazing people He has brought to lead this new movement.
When we first began, some of us had close friendships, but none of us had walked through anything quite like this before.
In these past months, we have endured, celebrated, pressed through, enjoyed, wondered, and warred through many ups and downs. As time went on, everyone felt pressure and tension was applied to relationships and individuals.
As we walked in those times, questions began to turn in people's minds wondering if the relationships would last the season.
Then something really beautiful happened.
The team began to see that even in the midst of the pressure, their team stood by them, prayed for them, forgave them, served them, and encouraged them. What started as exciting, then got scary... ended up amazing.
I love this passage, Proverbs 18:24 "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother"
I know we are just at the beginning of our journey, but I am so profoundly grateful for this team, even more now than ever.
My challenge to you today, is consider who God has placed around you and what team have you been placed on? Where are you in this process? Are you in a season when you need to encourage and support the people around you? Are you in a season when you need to rest in the support and encouragement of others? Whatever you're facing, press on friends! If you keep pushing, and wait for the turn, you will be so glad that you did!
