Let Us Grow in the Way of Love

I had a great opportunity to go to a worship conference this weekend with a few different groups there, one of them being Brian and Jen Johnson from Bethel. Jen led a song, "For The One" that hit me like a truck as she sang it, so much so that I've been listening to it on repeat since then. (if you want to check it out click here) One of the lines in the song is, "help me to love with open arms like You do, a love that erases all the lines and sees the truth."

In light of all the ugliness that we see in our country right now, where people are making decisions about who matters, and who deserves our affection based on inconsequential matters like skin color or country of origin; it is good for us to hold this all up to the light of God's Word.

Galatians 3:28 says, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Through the eyes of Christ, the One who IS LOVE, we are all loved, we are all significant, we are all precious. There is no race, social status, or gender that deserves greater or lesser love. We are all fully loved by Him.

Our life response to this reality, is to love as Jesus loves, to see people like He does. In fact in 1 John 4:8 it says, "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."

Let me encourage you to walk through your day allowing this to be your prayer,

"God help me to see and love people like you do. Save me from seeing through the eyes of judgement, and give me Your eyes, the eyes of love and compassion."

I'm praying for you today!
